SXSW Guide to FOOD!
We're self-proclaimed foodies over at Slumlove. And thank the Lord Austin has some amazing places to indulge our passion for food. Whether it's an old favorite or a new hot-spot, we're all about the food scene this SXSW. Here's our top picks:
Hillside Farmacy
Set in an old pharmacy in East Austin, Hillside serves up farm-to-table plates & raw oysters. We especially recommend swinging by for brunch and enjoying some of the best lattes in Austin.
Elizabeth St. Cafe
France meets Vietnam. Elizabeth St. combines delicious pastries & macarons with ban mi and pho (sounds strange, but it's amazing). The cheerful decor & vietnamese iced coffee add to the experience.
Frank
For a casual meal, we love Frank Hot Dogs & Cold Beer. Housed in an old grocery store in the heart of downtown Austin, Frank is perfect for a late night snack. We also recommend the Sunday Brunch, which comes complete with pancakes, bacon & a DJ spinning 90's hip hop.
Contigo
Looking for an experience a bit removed from the busy-ness of SXSW? Head out East to Contigo - an outdoor, community-style restaurant with incredible food & drinks. Their hamburger is one of our favorites in town.
