The Slumlove Blog
When Slumlove first launched, we introduced you to Claire - the head sweater-maker for Slumlove Sweater Company. Claire has been an important part of our success, and we know that without her, Slumlove simply wouldn't exist.
Our goal behind employing women like Claire is to help them provide a better life for their families. Since we started production last summer, Claire has been working towards her own goal of starting her very own sweater store in Kibera, and we are so excited that she has achieved her goal! Claire will continue to be our head sweater-maker, but now she will also be running her own business in Nairobi that provides school sweaters for children!
Thank YOU for helping us make Claire's dream a reality. When you purchase a sweater, you are partnering with us to help make a difference in the lives of people across the world.
We are proud to be participating in Small Business Saturday, a campaign with the goal to bring support to small businesses all over the country.
Our mission at Slumlove Sweater Company is to provide stylish, quality sweaters that fit your lifestyle & give you the opportunity to make a difference in the world. In honor of Small Business Saturday, we will be offering 15% your entire purchase using the code "SHOPSMALL"!
We hope everyone is enjoying a lovely time with friends + family today. Our day is consisting of a lot of food and a lot of football (we do live in Texas).
This Thanksgiving, we're thankful for YOU - our wonderful Slumlove supporters. Your purchase of a Slumlove sweater is helping provide a better life for people living in one of the world's largest slums. Our mission is to not only provide you with stylish + quality sweaters, but to make a difference in the world.
In honor of our fantastic customers, here's some Instagram pics you've shared with us in your Slumlove Sweater!

Our sweaters are made in the slum of Kibera, by people living in Kibera. We choose to produce our sweaters ethically & responsibly, treating our employees with respect and paying them fair wages. And 25% from EVERY sweater purchase goes back to providing education for children living in the slum. Our goal isn't just to sell sweaters, but to make a difference in the world. And when you purchase a sweater, you take part making a difference.
